Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer couples or family therapy?
Yes, we have several Spotted Rabbit therapists trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy who work with both monogamous and polyamorous relationships. Our art therapists will use this and other approaches to help you and your partner(s) increase friendship, improve conflict management, and create shared meaning.
Unlike other relationship therapists, Spotted Rabbit art therapists have extensive training and lived experience with queer relationships and relationships where one or more partners are neurodivergent.
At this time, we do not offer family therapy for parents and children.
Do you test for autism and ADHD?
Yes, Spotted Rabbit therapists can assess for autism and adhd, among many other mental health diagnoses, as we work with clients through ongoing therapy. We do not currently offer standalone assessments. If you are looking to get IEP services for your child or to apply as an adult for SSDI, you will need to be assessed by a licensed psychologist (PsyD) or MD. Assessments completed by mental health practitioners or social workers will not be accepted.
Do you write letters of support for HRT or Gender-affirming surgery?
Yes, we do! Whether you are an existing client or just looking for WPATH-guided letters of support, we can provide physician-requested letters for kids, teens, and adults for HRT and gender affirming surgery. If you are looking for a letter for your insurance company, you will need to confirm that they will accept a letter of support from an LCAT licensure (licensed creative arts therapist), as many require an LCSW, a psychologist (PsyD), or an MD to sign off.
can you write me a letter for an emotional support animal?
If you are an existing client or a new client committed to ongoing therapy, we do write letters advocating for an emotional support animal when appropriate. We do not currently offer this as a standalone service for folks not participating in therapy with us.
Can you help me get accommodations?
If you are an existing client or a new client committed to ongoing therapy, Spotted Rabbit therapists can assist you in getting ADA accommodations at college or at your place of employment. We do not currently offer this as a standalone service for folks not participating in therapy with us.
