At the crossroads of life, amid different cultural norms, societal expectations, and/or gender identities, we often lose our way, wondering where we truly belong. You might ask: “How should I live? Why can’t I move past my traumas? Why do relationships feel so complicated?”
I provide counseling in both English and Mandarin, supporting children, teens, and adults who are navigating trauma, emotional regulation, cultural identity, identity crises, LGBTQIA+ experiences, domestic violence, boundary setting, and uncertainty about the future.
As your counselor, I don’t offer ready-made answers—but I will walk beside you, helping you regulate your emotions and find your true voice in this vast and changing world. Using person-centered, strength-based, and trauma-informed therapies I offer a warm and welcoming space for reflection and change for those who are seeking clarity, growth, and authenticity at this point in their journey. Through Internal Family Systems (IFS) I can help you identify and integrate different inner parts and find balance within yourself. And with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) we can notice and shift unhelpful thought patterns and focus on small, practical actions to create achievable plans in real life. I’ve spent years training in traditional Chinese painting and truely believe that art making can help you to relax and express yourself freely. Unlike Western art that focuses more on color and intensity, Eastern art values harmony. Blank space is a symbol of balance and letting things flow naturally. I welcome clients who are interested in incorporating aspects of spirituality and Eastern wisdom into their sessions. Having traveled widely and connected with people across cultures, ages, and LGBTQIA+ communities, I believe healing begins with our shared humanity. These encounters continue to shape my counseling work, as I also grow in authenticity and compassion.
- Are you wanting personalized treatment instead of a one size fits all approach?
- Are you struggling with difficult relationships – gaslighting, boundary issues, frequent conflict?
- Do you wonder if a therapist from the LGBTQIA+ community might better understand your experiences?
- Do you feel lost in a big life transition?
- Are you feeling stressed or depressed and aren’t sure how to move forward?
- Are you seeking culturally sensitive care that sees you in your full context?
- Do you want to incorporate spirituality and/or eastern philosophies into your therapy?
If the answer to many of these is yes, please reach out to see how I can help.
