Being a low needs or high functioning neurodivergent adult can be challenging. The demands of daily life are overwhelming, your emotional experiences are heightened, and even those closest to you don’t always get you. Connecting with other adults who have autism or ADHD can help late-diagnosed or undiagnosed neurodivergent folks feel less alone and better understand how neurodivergence affects them. Even for those that may have had a childhood diagnosis, time makes it harder and harder to mask and the older you are the less accommodating the world can be toward your quirks, leading to increased burnout. If you’re struggling to know who you really are, are feeling like you don’t fit in, want to improve how you feel about yourself, and/or are looking for guidance on better meeting your needs, connecting with other neurodivergent adults can help.
We’ll use open-ended and directed art-making to actively work on identity development, emotional expression, and social connection while learning more about the ways autism and ADHD impacts our emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. As always here at Spotted Rabbit, our goal is to help folks embrace authenticity and build a life aligned with their own personal needs and values.
