TGNC Art Group

Spotted Rabbit groups and classes are specifically developed to help youth and adults navigate life challenges in a fun and engaging small-group environment. Our TGNC group focuses specifically on the social and emotional needs of transgender, non-binary, and gender non-conforming youth and adults.

Each TGNC Art Group session will engage participants in creative self-expression, identity exploration, and social connection with folks who have similar lived experience and who are all wanting to live as their most authentic self.

Facilitated by a trans/non-binary Spotted Rabbit art therapist.

Middle School – Ages 11-14
Day/Time – every/other Tuesday 4-5:30pm
Cost – $270 for 6 sessions, payable monthly
Dates – 1/13, 1/27, 2/10, 2/24, 3/10, 3/24

High School – Ages 14-17
Day/Time – every other Tuesday 4-5:30pm
Cost – $270 for 6 sessions, payable monthly
Dates – 1/20, 2/3, 2/17, 3/3, 3/17, 3/31

Kyle Lang, LCAT (he/him) is a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist in New York State and has been offering art-based psychotherapy to kids, teens and adults since 2022. He has a BFA in Fine Art from Alfred University and a MS in Creative Arts Therapy from Nazareth College.

Art Skills Offered

The TGNC Art Group offers a diverse range of art skills, including acrylic painting, watercolor painting, and mixed-media sculpture. Participants will have the opportunity to experiment with different mediums, allowing them to discover their artistic preferences and enhance their creative abilities.

In addition to traditional art techniques, the group also focuses on essential skills such as color mixing and color theory, which provide a foundational understanding of art creation. This comprehensive approach ensures that participants not only create art but also gain valuable knowledge that can be applied in future artistic endeavors.

Executive Functioning Skills Development

Beyond artistic expression, the TGNC Art Group emphasizes the development of executive functioning skills. These skills include community building, social interaction, and communication, which are crucial for personal development and relationship building.

How to Join the TGNC Art Group

Joining the TGNC Art Group is simple and straightforward. Interested individuals can fill out the TGNC Art Group Interest Form available on the Spotted Rabbit Studio website. This form helps us understand the needs and interests of potential participants, ensuring a tailored experience.

Once the form is submitted, individuals will receive information regarding scheduling and available slots. As waitlists are forming for various age groups, early registration is encouraged to secure a spot in this enriching program.
